Please note: The Coventry Beekeepers Association do not currently attend the Birdingbury Country Show. However, this will be reviewed annually.
The Birdingbury Country Show produced modest returns for the branch this year. Again we sold a range of branch member’s honey, candles & wax decorations, and ran a ‘Pick-a-Straw’ game for children. An observation hive was also on display. This always receives plenty of attention and promotes questions and interest, and was supported by the excellent ‘pop-up’ posters produced by Peter Barclay.
Allowing for the fact that Sunday at Birdingbury was rather wet during the morning, we can still be quite pleased that we made around £200 profit for the branch and were able to raise interest in bees and beekeeping to a good number of people over the weekend. There was also a reasonable level of interest in our beekeeping courses, so we can hope that this may produce increased attendance at these courses.
