Our attendance at the Godiva Festival appears to have been quite successful this year in terms of returns for the branch. We sold a range of branch member’s honey, candles & wax decorations, and ran a ‘Pick-a-Straw’ game for children. An observation hive was also on display. This always receives plenty of attention and promotes questions and interest, and was supported by the excellent ‘pop-up’ posters produced by Peter Barclay.
As usual, takings and general foot-fall at the Godiva Festival were healthy and we made a profit for the branch in the region of £862. We are grateful to committee members and the help of Sally Burton and Ann Davis for helping with this major contribution towards the branch finances. There was a reasonable level of interest in our beekeeping courses, so we can hope that this may produce increased attendance at these courses also.
