Venue: All Saints Church Hall, Allesley, Coventry

Judge:  Julian Routh

Summary of the event (courtesy of Peter Barclay)

The Honey Show used a closed judging method (the judge being accompanied by a steward and observers who were interested in the judging process). A separate branch meeting saw Dave Bonner and Mick Hill lead a lively branch question and answer session, while entrants awaited the results of the judging. The number of entrants swelled to its highest for the past five years to number 67 in total. A real credit to branch members during an otherwise poor year for beekeeping. The judge commented on how impressed he was to see so many entries.

Results were as follows:

1. Dave, Cathy & Ben 77pts 17entries

2. Peter Spencer 48pts 9entries

3. Mike Priest 43pts 6entries

4. Julia Barclay 31pts 7entries

5. Stuart Pollard 21pts 4entries

Best in show was awarded to Dave Bonner for his excellent wax block (see gallery below for picture of Dave, Ben & Cathy who were awarded most points in show). Our judge, Julian Routh, said on the night the standard was high and he encouraged members to enter the County Honey Show.
